The 8.5 Python API for GX Developer is not available for the 9.0 platform, though you can continue to use existing Python scripts that are run as stand-along programs.

This Python API is undergoing a significant improvement and expansion to support calling Python scripts directly from Oasis montaj, together with a more Pythonic module interface. The new and expanded API will be released as together with the 9.1 release.

Continue to use your 8.5 scripts using the 8.5 libraries as described in the 8.5 documentation Stand-Alone Programs - Python.

Be prepared to migrate Python scripts to run inside Oasis montaj with the new Python API that will be available with the 9.1 release (Q4, 2016).

Custom menu files named with "DLL" at the end of the (for example, "MyMenuDLL.omn:) are not recognized.Change the menu name so that it does not end in ...DLL.omn. For example, "MyMenuDLL_.omn" will be recognized.
